Giving Opportunities

Fundraising is essential to increasing the quality of the Sugar Bowl Ski Team & Academy programs, enriching the life of each student-athlete who walks through our doors and maintaining the health and composition of our unique community.  Throughout our history, SBSTA has received incredible support from countless individuals, foundations and corporations who believe in our mission. This generosity has been critical to the Foundation’s success and its ability to ensure the highest level of programmatic excellence.

While Ski Team and Academy fees make up a majority of the budget, roughly $700,000 comes from fundraising.  Below are initiatives that help bridge the gap between dues and actual program expenses.  We hope that each family will give at a level that is meaningful to them and we do expect everyone to participate.

The Sugar Bowl Ski Team & Academy is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization−all donations are tax deductible. For your convenience the Foundation’s Federal Tax ID number is 94-3171879.

Annual Fund

Goal: $300,000

The Annual Fund is SBSTA's most important fundraising campaign. Each year, all parents, trustees, and staff are asked to contribute to the Annual Fund which is critical in making up the difference between revenues and operating expenses. In addition to providing essential revenue, a broadly supported Annual Fund demonstrates a commitment to our community and sends a powerful message to outside corporations, foundations, major donors and friends who also support our organization. Because 100% participation is so important, we expect every family to participate.

Campaign to Build Our Future

Goal: $13 Million

Consistent with the school’s mission of developing the mind, body and spirit of its student-athletes, Sugar Bowl Academy is committed to providing world-class, environmentally sustainable facilities that fit its special vision and location. Constructing a one-of-a-kind ski-in/ski-out campus that takes advantage of the unique beauty and embraces the challenging environment of Donner Summit will further distinguish Sugar Bowl Academy as a premier institution of learning.

Village Ball

Goal: $30,000

The Village Ball is a culinary event for the Sugar Bowl homeowner community held annually during the Holidays.

Silver Belt Dinner

Goal: $120,500

The Sugar Bowl Ski Team & Academy's annual Silver Belt Auction/Dinner and Race is an event not to be missed! Held annually during Presidents' Week, the event is a great opportunity to connect with fellow community members and it's one of the SBSTA's major fundraising initiatives that provides critical scholarship assistance and program support for our student-athletes.
